Born in Cameroon, West Africa, David Trobisch attended high school in Austria, and studied Protestant Theology at the Universities of Tübingen and Heidelberg in Germany. He holds dual citizenship (US and German). He taught New Testament at the Universities of Heidelberg, Yale Divinity School, and Bangor Theological. He is a specialist in Biblical Manuscripts and chaired the section “Working with Biblical Manuscripts” of the international meetings of the Society of Biblical Literature from 2002 to 2009. Since 1995 he serves as an advisor to the translation committee of the American Bible Society and was a member of the board. He is also on the editorial board of the Greek New Testament (Nestle-Aland edition).

Since 2014 David Trobisch is the Director of Collections at Museum of the Bible, Washington DC. Dr. David Trobisch makes his home in Springfield, Missouri, and Nußloch (Heidelberg), Germany.
