Ms. Romana Siddique is a Senior Lecturer of biotechnology at the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of BRAC University, Bangladesh. She did her bachelor and masters in Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

She started grooming her career with the young professional leadership program in the world’s largest non-government organization BRAC. She planned and developed, along with her team a molecular biology laboratory at BRAC Agriculture Development Centre where she along with her team tried to develop salt-tolerant rice, conservation, and dissemination of germplasm of Musa sp., low-cost micro-propagation of potato and banana to ensure food security. Now she is in active teaching career and also involved in several research projects. Her primary research interests are in the field of isolation of dye degrading bacteria from textile sludge and antimicrobial activity of different fruit extract against different pathogenic bacteria. Ms. Siddique also worked as a Visiting Scientist under the India Science and Research Fellowship (ISRF) program in Biofuel group in International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), New Delhi, India. She is connected to scientific journal publications in different national and international journals.
