Louise is a Cairo-based French reporter who specializes in environment and science stories. She has been based in Cairo for 10 years, and throughout this period has sought to answer what she sees as a central question: how can a growing population adapt to shrinking resources at a time of grave climate uncertainty?  Much of her reporting has consequently looked at diminishing water quantity and quality, food security, increasingly poor soil health, and the choices that states – and farmers – must make in order to guarantee their future food security.   For much of this time, particularly in her work for Nature magazine, she has relied on peer-reviewed science studies as a key plank in her work. She is proficient at distilling often complicated raw data into content that’s comprehensible for a wider audience.  The scope of her work emcompasses Egypt, Jordan, the Maghreb and the Arabian Gulf Peninsula, and she has published news articles and features in Nature Middle East, Nature Outlook, Nature Index, the Middle East Institute, Egypt Independent and Mada Masr.
