Professor Pramod W. Ramteke is currently Dean of Post Graduate Studies and Head of Departments of Genetics & Plant Breeding at SHUATS, India. He has over 29 years of experience and contributed significantly towards development of microbe based ecosystem friendly processes for utilization of agricultural wastes.

He is elected Fellow of National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, The Linnean Society of London, National Academy of Biological Sciences, Uttar Pradesh Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Biotech Research Society of India, Society of Plant Protection Sciences, Bioved Research Institute of Agriculture & Technology and Society for Applied Biotechnology.

He is recipient of Life Time Achievement Award, Excellence in Science Award, Dr. J. C. Edward Medal, Distinguished Scientist Award, Er. V. S. Chauhan Gold Medaland Prof. K. S. Bilgramy Memorial Award, appreciation for the indigenous development of Portable Water Analysis Kit, Mobile Laboratory Vans for Water Quality Analysis.

He has 3 patents, one paddy germplasm, 3 databases and 100 gene sequences in NCBI to his credit.  He authored two books, 213 original research articles, 22 reviews and has over 2523 citations with h-index 22 and i-10 index 58 (Google scholor). He has guided 28 PhD and 58 PG students. He is actively involved in science communication activities especially for school children and National Council for Science & Technology Communication.
