Lutfor Rahman is currently employed as Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, and Treasurer of Stamford University Bangladesh. He served as Vice Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellor at two science and technology universities. Dr. Rahman is the Founder and Chief Executive of Association for Advancement of Information Technology (AAIT), a nonprofit organization affiliated with NGO Bureau, Bangladesh in 1997. AAIT was established with objective of empowering women scientists, technologists and researchers with ICT. Professor Rahman served as ICT Co-ordinator of Commonwealth Science Council. He also served as Electronic Engineer at the US Geological Survey (USGS) and Sanyo Electronics Company of Japan. He started his career as Lecturer in Physics in a Govt. college. Dr Rahman obtained M.Sc in Nuclear Physics in 1969, M.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and PhD in ICT. He is author of the book Digital Bangladesh and Co-author of Encyclopedia of Gender and ICT. His wife Laila Noor is a Science Teacher at Dhaka University. All members in his family are science educated. Prof. Rahman is member of International Union of Radio Scientists URSI, Belgium.
