Rana F. Obeidat, PhD, CNS, RN is an Assistant Professor at Faculty of Nursing, Zarqa University, Jordan. She received her Bachelor of Nursing at Jordan University of Science and Technology, Jordan in 1997, her Masters of Nursing at Jordan University of Science and Technology, Jordan in 2005 and Doctor of Philosophy at University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, New York, USA in 2012.

Her research program which utilizes both qualitative and quantitative methods is focused on the diagnosis and treatment experiences of Jordanian women diagnosed with breast cancer in general and early stage breast cancer in particular. The purpose of her program of research is to improve clinicians’ ability to provide individualized quality care to Jordanian women, meet their decision making and support needs, and develop culturally sensitive decision support interventions. She received George Bennet Dissertation Fellowship, Foundation for Informed Medical Decision Making in 2011, Shirley D. DeVoe Nursing Research Support Fund, School of Nursing, University at Buffalo, The State University of New York in 2011, Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund, World Bank Family Network Group in 2010, and Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O) in 2009. Further, she received Jordan Best Paper Award (Hikma Award), Jordan Oncology Society, Jordan in 2014 and was nominated for New Investigator Award, Oncology Nursing Society, USA in 2014.
