Dr Ruth Narmann, German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina   Dr Narmann is Deputy Head of the International Relations Department of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. She co-ordinates the Asia and Western Europe Desks of the Academy and is in charge of Leopoldina’s involvement in supranational networks. She is engaged in the national academies’ activities to provide policy advice to the annual G7- and G20 summits, and she headed the secretariat of Leopoldina President Hacker during his membership in the Scientific Advisory Board of the United Nations Secretary General. Before joining Leopoldina, Dr. Narmann gained extensive experience in international science and research management, e.g. at German Research Foundation (DFG) or a Leibniz Research Institute. Prior to that, she worked in industry with a focus on human resource development. Dr Narmann studied Chinese Studies, American Studies and Communication Studies at Eberhard-Karls University (Tuebingen, Germany), National Political University (Taipeh, R.O.C.) and Yale University (New Haven, USA). She received her PhD from Eberhard-Karls University.
