Prof. Dr. Ali Hamzeh is presently a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Amman, Jordan. He is the head of Energy Committee at the Syrian Engineering Society- Damascus from 1993 untill 2012. He has been a visiting Professor in Strathclyde University, UK, Glasgow 2004, and in Erlangen-Nuernberg University, Germany many times since 1994 till 2010.

He obtained his PhD in Electrical Power Engineering from Technical University of Dresden, Germany. His main research areas include electrical power systems and renewable energy systems. He has published more than 120 papers published in International and Arab journals and conferences. He has authored 17 text books in the field of electric power systems, renewable energy, and advanced computational methods.

Prof. Dr. Hamzeh is a Board member of the Arab Institute for Operation & Maintenance.
