Omar Hamarneh is currently Advisor to Her Royal Highness President of the Royal Scientific Society on issues of technology development as well as Executive Director of iPARK, a technology focused business Park that provides a complete package of support and services.

Previous to this Omar was Acting Deputy Secretary General of the Higher Council for Science and Technology of Jordan where he was responsible for Science and Technology policy, development of the National Innovation strategy, international cooperation including development and implementation of bilateral and multilateral agreements between Jordan and other nations. While at the Higher Council, Omar helped establish the National Consortium for Technology and Incubation of Business which in partnership with 2 main universities, the Royal Scientific Society, the Government and private sector service providers was able to spearhead the concept of Business Incubation and culminated in the creation of incubation programs in 3 universities, the Royal Scientific Society and the beginning of IP policies in the universities.

Omar continues to advice on issues of Entrepreneurship and Innovation and related strategic matters and policies and has worked with many organizations including the World Bank, Infodev, the US commerce dept., various EU programs and more.
