H.E Eng. Ghassan A. Ghanem the CEO of Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC), born in 1949, holdes a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Civil Engineering – Distinction with first honor degree from Ain Shams University – Cairo 1969.

Ghanem has an extensive experience in both the public and private sectors. He Launched his career in 1969 Teaching Reinforced Concrete Structure and Theory of Structure at Ain Shams University – Cairo. In 1974 he served as Head of Structural Section, the Resident Engineer for Shaheed Faisal College (Muta’ University) at SIGMA Consulting Engineers, and in 1979 he became the Director of Studies Department, and later Director of Planning and Development Department at Municipality of Amman. Following that Eng. Ghanem held a number of positions including Project Manager & Resident Engineer for Zarqa Maeen Spa Complex, Project Manager and Resident Engineer for Urban Development Project II, as well as Director, Engineering Affairs & Project Manager at SIGMA Consulting Engineers which involved the development of the East Coast of the Dead Sea . In 1997 he was responsible for the infrastructure and underground water tanks for South and West of Amman. 

In 2000 Ghanem joined the taskforce of the newly established Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) then to hold the position of Director, Public Works & Municipality Affairs. He joined Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) in 2005 - 2012 as the Senior Vice President , Real Estate and Technical Affairs.

Ghanem chairs and sits on boards of a number of companies. He was involved in many committees, conferences,  and he wrote a number of books and papers
