Mirko Djurovic was born in Belgrade, Serbia, on 01.06.1976. Primary and Secondary school finished in Cetinje- Montenegro.  He graduated in 2002. at Faculty of Natural Science, University of Montenegro, at Department for Biology, and finished PhD in 2012. at Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade. From 2004, he start to work in the Institute of marine biology. In the 13 years of experience working in Institute, he has participated in a number of national and international research, mainly for the estimation of population dynamics of fish species and research on marine mammals and sea turtles.

He is member of several international scientific research groups that dealing with problem with fisheries on Adriatic and Mediterranean level.

From 2014 elected as a director of the Institute of marine biology-University of Montenegro. In the period 2015-2016  he was member of the Senate of University of Montenegro. As author and co-author he published more than 70 scientific papers and conference presentations.
