Anne Cambon-Thomsen, MD, immunogeneticists with degrees in biology, statistics and health ethics, is Emeritus Research Director in CNRS (French national centre for scientific research) in Toulouse, France. She works In a joint research Unit on epidemiology and public health and a societal platform “Ethics and biosciences” at Inserm (National Institute for Health and Medical Research) and University of Toulouse, on the societal aspects of biotechnology, human genomics, biobanks and  complex disease genetics. Officer in the French national Order of Merit and with experience in national and European ethics bodies and expert groups she has become a prominent figure in Europe on ethics of sciences and bioethics. She was the first Director coordinator of the Common Service ELSI (Ethical, Legal and Societal implications) of BBMRI-ERIC (Biobanking and BioMolecular resources European Research Infrastructure) and is presently member of the EGE (European Group on Ethics in Science and New Technologies) at the European Commission. She is the Champion of the 8th edition of the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF), 9-14 July 2018 in Toulouse, the European largest interdisciplinary event on science, innovation and their relations with society, with the motto “Sharing science; towards new horizons”.
