Ali A. H. Bahkali earned his PhD in Physiological Fungal Ecology in 1983 from University of Wales (United Kingdom), when he also became Assistant Professor at King Saud University, Riyadh (Saudi Arabia); in 1993, he became an Associate Professor and has been Professor since 2000. He had been the Head of Department Botany and Microbiology – King Saud University from 2007 to 2012. He was an Editor-in-Chief of ISI Journal Saudi Journal of Biological Science for ten years. His main research fields are Physiological Fungal Ecology, Biofuels, Fungal Genomics, Fungal Ecology, and Biotechnology. He authored and co-authored more than 200 ISI papers published in international journals and conference proceedings.
