Rafat Assi has been the Director of Water and Environment Centre at the Royal Scientific Society since the year 2009. In addition to this position, since the beginning of 2017 he became the acting vice president for research and development.  He has more than 25 years of experience in the water and environment fields. He has executed and supervised many projects and studies in different environmental fields including climate change, resource efficient and cleaner production, air quality assessment, industrial wastewater treatment, environmental impact assessment (EIA), environmental auditing.  In addition to his administrative responsibilities He is currently leading two major international studies; Transfer of Sound Environmental Technology (TEST) in Jordan within EU funded SwitchMed program and the preparation of Jordan’s First Biennial Update Report to the UNFCCC.
