Dr. Bassam Anani received his BSC in Civil Engineering ( CE) from the American University of Beirut  and later received his MSc and PhD degrees in CE from the Pennsylvnia State University. He taught both grduate and undergraduate students in King Fahd Univ for Petroleum and Minerals and later at King Saud University. In between he worked as the Director or Road Studies and Design in the Ministry of Public Works in Jordan. Dr. Anani served for more than twenty years as the head of the transport section in the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia ( UN ESCWA) in different duty stations. He  was the Director of the transport section in Kososvo in charge of the UN peace keeping mission for the reconstruction of the highway and bridges after the war. In 2001 he spent a sabbatical year at the University of California  in Berkeley doing reserach on pavement maintenance and  management systems (PMMS).  He servesd as the focal point for the UN in Western Asia for th United Nations Global Road Safety Committee. Afetr retiring for the United Nations Dr. Anani served as a road safey consultant with the Abu Dhabi Department of Transport (DoT) from 2010 till 2014. After returuning to Joradn he taught Transport Engineering at the Al Ahilyyah Amman University and currently is the Director of the Liasion office for the newly established Aqaba University of Technology. Dr Anani is a dedicated sportsman.
