Earned his Masters and Ph.D. (through a Fulbright scholarship) in Information and Database Engineering from the University of Florida, USA in 1995 & 1998 respectively. Recently appointed as the Technology adviser to HRH Royal Scientific Society's (RSS) President and Chief Data Officer (CDO). Before that, he managed a group of technology companies in Saudi Arabia between 2013 and 2017. He served as the Vice President of Testing and Standards at RSS between 2011 and 2013 after two years in public service as a Government Chief Information Officer (CIO) & Director General for the National Information Technology Center. Between 2004 & 2010 he managed a regional Software Solutions & Services business. Before that, he worked as an associate professor of Computer Engineering at Yarmouk University for seven years and served as the ICT educational strategy adviser to the Jordanian Minister of ICT. He enjoys a unique mix of public/private/academic experinces. Has several scientific papers published in international journals and conferences proceedings as well as various white papers in areas related to his field of specialization. In addition, he engaged, and continues to do so, in national Tech projects, tasks forces, and specialized consultancies with regional & international organizations. He has keen interests in the areas of Data sciences, Big Data analytics, emerging technology trends, Knowledge for development, and Applied Information Technologies.
