Mr. Nizar Al-Halasah was appointed from the Royal Scientific Society (RSS) of Jordan in May 2011 as an innovation and Commercialization Consultant to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) Technology Centre (ETC), a regional institution of the United Nations based in Amman-Jordan. At ETC Mr. Al-Halasah is supporting and guiding the delivery of ETC programs on technology transfer, development of National Innovation Systems and technology commercialization to the member countries across the Western Asia region.

Prior to that Mr. Al-Halasah led the following national programs; national business development Program of 22 centers distributed all over Jordan “Enhanced Productivity Centers”, the Jordan Innovation Centre for Engineers and Industrial Enterprises and the Innovation Bureau at Royal Scientific Society. These programs are aiming to support SMEs, creating entrepreneurial enterprises: innovation management, intellectual property, commercialization, and business incubation.

 

Mr. Al-Halasah has more than 20 years of professional experience in establishing entrepreneurial links between research institutions and industry and relevant programs. He published scientific papers in international journals and conferences in the fields of Water Resources, Environmental Impact Assessment and Industrial Pollution.

 

He received his M.Sc. and B. Sc. in Civil Engineering from University of Jordan.
