Dr Maamoun Ahmed, graduated from Mutah University in 2004 with a Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering. He worked for one year in the establishment of the Jordan's e-Government technical support team. In 2005, Dr Maamoun started a full-time MPhil / Ph.D. research program in the field of Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks after which he was awarded the Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from Anglia Ruskin University (UK). 

Dr Maamoun worked as assistant professor in the Middle East University (Jordan) from 2011 until 2015, during this period he was promoted to Head of Computer Science Department, a year after he held the position of vice dean of Faculty of Information Technology.

In 2015, Dr Maamoun moved to Aqaba to hold the position of Head of Computer Science and Software Engineering Departments at Aqaba University of Technology. A year after, he was promoted to hold the positions of Dean of Faculty (Information Technology) and Director of Computer Center. 

Dr Maamoun's research interests are Mobile Ad-Hoc routing protocols, Algorithms Optimization, and Data Sciences. He published different papers in those fields, along his peer-reviewing roles in various journals.

Recently, he has been nominated to be the technical team leader of the first Jordanian solar boat, which is expected to compete next year in Netherlands.
