Christian Weidlich is a Senior Officer at the International Relations Department of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. He co-ordinates the Middle East Desks of the Academy and is engaged in the national academies’ activities to provide policy advice to the annual G7 and G20 summits. He supported Leopoldina President Jörg Hacker during his membership in the Scientific Advisory Board of the United Nations Secretary General. Prior to joining Leopoldina in 2015, he held different positions at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF), including Research Associate at the Department for Information and Knowledge Transfer (2014-2015) and Project Associate for Science Diplomacy in the Middle East/Gulf (2011-2014). He studied Political Science and German Studies at the University of Münster as well as International Relations at Goethe University Frankfurt.
