Ms Najat MOKHTAR is Division Director at the IAEA, Technical Cooperation Department , Division of Asia and the Pacific. The programme  provides technical support to 41 countries in Asia and the Pacific  in different areas including health, water, agriculture, industry, environment, and energy .

She has a Doctorate in Food and Nutrition and a PhD degree in public health Nutrition from Laval University in Canada. She has completed her post-Doctoral studies at the Johns Hopkins University, USA as a Fulbright fellow. Before Joining the Agency , Dr Mokhtar was the Director of Sciences and technology  at the Hassan II Academy of Science &Technology in Morocco. She has worked as University Professor for more than 20 years in Morocco. She has led the nutrition section at the IAEA and served as technical officer for 7 years.
