Tamara Elzein-Lebanese scientist in the field of material science, is currently Associate Researcher and Director of the Doctoral FellowshipS Program at the National Council for Scientific Research of Lebanon CNRS-L. After a PhD in physical chemistry from the University of Haute Alsace (2002), she obtained a full position of “Maître de Conférences” at the same university. End of 2013, she decided to return to Lebanon to join the Lebanese Atomic Energy Commission of CNRS-L to develop the topic of "new materials for radio-decontamination". In 2015, she was appointed director of the doctoral fellowships program implemented at the General Secretariat of the CNRS-L, and in 2016 she was appointed by the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) as a member of its international scientific council gathering 27 personalities from 116 countries, while also being a member of the AUF regional commission of experts (Middle-East Regional Direction). In 2016, she was awarded the “L'OREAL-UNESCO for Women in Science” regional fellowship for Levant and Egypt, in addition to a recognition Award of “Lebanese pioneer women” by the National Initiative for the Centennial of Greater Lebanon. In 2017 she was awarded the «L’OREAL-UNESCO for Women in Science» International Rising Talent prize as one among 15 women scientists recognized for their outstanding potential and contribution to the creation of innovative solutions in their field of research.
