Dr. Abu Dayyeh is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He is consultant in gastroenterology, hepatology, and advanced therapeutic endoscopy. He is also the director of the bariatric and metabolic endoscopy program. His research relates to the physiological effects of endoscopic manipulation of the gastrointestinal tract for weight management and reversal of metabolic disease. Dr. Abu Dayyeh has led and participated in multiple pivotal randomized trials that resulted in the regulatory approval of multiple endoscopic devices for the treatment of obesity and diabetes in the United Stated. He is the inventor of multiple devices and procedures for the management of obesity and diabetes. He has published more than 100 peer reviewed articles, reviews, and book chapters in the field of obesity, bariatric endoscopy and surgery. His work has been highly cited with more than one thousand citations. He received multiple awards and grants in support of his research, and has been invited to give many national and international keynote lectures. He serves as a consultant and advisor to multiple leading US and International companies who are developing novel therapeutics for obesity and metabolic disease.
