Joëlle Jenny is an Associate at Harvard University's Weatherhead Center for International Affairs. She has most recently served as director for security policy and conflict prevention at the EU's External Action Service (EEAS) in Brussels, Belgium. In that capacity she led EU external security policies in the areas of non-proliferation and disarmament; counter-terrorism; cyber and space security; conflict prevention; and sanctions. Prior to joining the EEAS, she worked for the UK’s Department for International Development. She has held postings in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. She earned her master’s degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in Boston, USA, and is an honorary associate professor at the Institute for Strategy and Security, University of Exeter, UK.
