Manfred A. Lange currently serves as Director of the Future Earth MENA Regional Center, as well as Director of the MENA Regional Nodal Offices for the Global Land Programme and the Integrated Land Ecosystem-Atmosphere Processes Study.  His main research interests include the assessment of climate change impacts with a focus on water- and energy security, renewable energy sources and energy- and water use efficiency in the built environment.  He was the founding Director of the Energy, Environment and Water Research Center (EEWRC) of the Cyprus Institute (CyI) in Nicosia, Cyprus (2007-2015) and continues to serve as a full professor there, as well as Professor at the Science and Technology in Archaeology Research Center.   With a PhD and professorship in geophysics from Kiel University (Germany) and Westfälische-Wilhelms-Universität Münster, respectively, Manfred’s post-doctoral work has taken him to the USA, Germany and Finland.  He has coordinated numerous projects of the European Union and the European Science Foundation and has coordinated various nationally funded research projects in Germany, Finland and Cyprus.
