Haidar M. Fraihat (Ph.D. in MIS)

Dr. Haidar Fraihat has a Ph.D. in Management Science/MIS from Illinois Institute of Technology, IL. USA with specialization on MIS (1992), an MBA from the University of Bridgeport, CT. USA (1987), and a B.A. in Business and Accounting from Yarmouk University, Jordan (1984).

Currently he is the Director of Technology for Development Division (TDD) at UN-ESCWA in Beirut. Before that Dr. Fraihat held 2 government posts in Jordan including the Director General of the Jordan Department of Statistics and the Director General of the Jordan National Information Technology Center (the Government CIO) since 2006. He also served as advisor/consultant to several government ministers.

Dr. Fraihat has more than 50 research outputs including 13 published research papers and several papers presented in conference proceedings. Dr. Fraihat has more than 20 conference papers, 3 authored textbooks in MIS and Operations Research, and numerous technical papers and research projects and grants, not to mention his extensive work on statistical matters.

During his work for the government of Jordan, Dr. Fraihat was highly involved in several economic, social and technological development files in Jordan.
