Dr. Alzoubi has Ph.D.in Agricultural Economics. Working on Enhancing the livelihood and food security of IDPs and Refugees. Worked as senior research fellow in socio-economic studies at International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) and the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) in Jordan and Lebanon. Dr. Al zoubi worked as the head of Social Studies Department in Syrian General Commission of Scientific Agricultural Research (GCSAR), livelihood and food security coordinator at Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), socio-economic expert at Action Against Hunger (ACF) and The Arab Center for the Studies of Arid zones and Dry lands (ACSAD),  and women empowerment expert at UNHCR

Dr. Alzoubi has received numerous awards – from the World Academy of Science, Open Society Foundation, the Syrian General Commission of Scientific Agricultural Research and Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, the League of Arab States, Arab Women Organization and UNESCO, her book (The Role of Women in Home Economics) is considered the first Syrian scientific reference about Home-Economics.  

 

Since the war in Syria, Dr. Alzoubi concern has been researching ways of women empowerment and improving the livelihoods and food security of affected Syrian families inside and outside of Syria, especially women headed families, through enhancing capacities building, finding work opportunities and support children and youth to educate.
