Born in 1946 and holding a Bachelor of law degree from BAU, Mr. Abu Rashid is the founder of Amman Center for Peace & Development ACPD; a Jordanian NGO that works on facilitating dialogue between the people of the ME, overcoming regional divids, seeking collaborative solutions for common problems & improving understanding & tolerance. 

Before founding ACPD he was consultant to HRH Prince AL Hassan & expert on the national security council. 

Abu Rashid is a retired Jordanian military officer. During his 35 years of service he served as chief delegate to the joint armistice commission, head of liaison & coordination bureau, chief of military intelligence & head of information & sources branch. Moreover, he was one of the top security officials who served as a member of the Jordanian delegation to the multilateral peace conference in Madrid & also member of the monitoring committee on the peace negotiation. 

In these capacities he received many awards for his outstanding service including Jordan's al Kawkab medal, Al Nahdah medal & Leadership Competence medal.
