Mr Lamine Seydi started his career with the United Nations System in 2001 as Programme Officer at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Vienna, Austria. From 2004 to 2011, he was External Relations Officer, Legal and External Relations Division of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO). In 2011, he joined the CTBTO’s Capacity-Building and Training Section for the coordination and implementation of the Organization’s overarching capacity-building programmes. Mr Seydi has been back to the Legal and External Relations Division since 2014 where heading the Unit on Outreach, Capacity-Building, Africa, & the Middle-East and South Asia.

 

Prior to joining the United Nations System, Mr Seydi was in the Senegalese Foreign Service. He also worked in the private sector and with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

 

He holds a Master’s Degree in Administration and is a Graduate of the Vienna Diplomatic Academy (Diplomacy and International Relations) and the Centre for International and Interdisciplinary Studies (CIIS) of the University of Vienna (International Relations and Public Choice). Mr Seydi also has a Certificate in Public Financial Management and Methods from the Hertie School of Governance, Berlin, Germany. He has a keen interest in innovation, science diplomacy and the impacts of science and technology on the present and future generations.
