Dr. Hani N. Khoury  graduated from the U of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1979, Professor since 1988, Chairman of the Department of Geology, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science, The U of Jordan for 16 years. 

He has more than 170 publications (H-index 22), two patents in developing green low cost building materials, and he supervised more  than 25 graduate students. He discovered many new minerals, studied almost all industrial rocks and minerals in Jordan, discovered three natural cement and radwaste analogues in Jordan and the highest alkaline waters of the World. He also contributed in the discovery of the largest flying dinosaur and the largest meteoritic impact struture in the Middle East.

Prof. Khoury was awarded the Independence Decoration from his Majesty Late King Hussein (Nov.1994), and got Shouman Foundation Award for Arab Scientists (1985) and the Distinguished Researcher Awards of the Faculty of science (2009), Deanship of Scientific Research (2006, 2010), The University of Jordan (2016) and Hisham Hijjawi in Applied Sciences (2011). He was granted Alexander von Humboldt Research Award for life in Germany (1986/1987, 2006, 2009, 2011, 2014).
