I am Edna Emerite HOUNSA and I am 25 years old. I am a young Beninese Scientist. I am involved in Microbiology pplied to Pharmacology at the Research Unit in Applied Microbiology and Pharmacology of natural substances, Research Laboratory in Applied Biology, University of Abomey-Calavi. After my graduation of Baccalaureate (scientific option), I earned a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences at the Polytechnic School of Abomey-Calavi. Currently I am doing my studies for a Master in Pharmacology.  I did a lot of internships and holds a position of lab technician respectively at the El-Fateh hospital laboratory, the area Hospital of Tanguieta before being recruited as lab scientitst by the University of Abomey-Calavi. Therefore, I have been involved in a two-years project funded by TWAS. This project allowed me to do my Master on a topic related to multi-resistant strains of bacteria responsible for food salmonellosis. I am part of a female team strongly coordinated by a TWAS Young Affiliate in Benin. As Young Scientist, I have been selected to participate to the second Symposium of Women Advancement Forum International Exchanges, Research and Academia in September 2017, the Day of the Scientific Renaissance of Africa in June 2017. I was also the Youngest Scientist selected for the Summer School organised by Mooscitic (France) to strengthen the skills of Lecturers-Researchers in West Africa. At this stage, I am author of three articles all indexed in DOAJ databases at least.
