Myles Gordon is a public engagement/outreach specialist, focusing on learning in informal education settings worldwide.

 

Following his tenure as Senior Vice President of Education Development Center, Inc., an international R&D organization, Gordon served as Vice President of the American Museum of Natural History in New York for 11 years, responsible for onsite, community, and online programs and products, reaching an audience of tens of millions yearly.

 

As a freelance consultant for the last 12 years, he has designed education plans for the California Academy of Sciences and the Smithsonian Institution (National Museum of Natural History, Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage, Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden); a strategic plan for the US Committee of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), and focused his energy on the cultural sector in countries worldwide. International projects have included a training institute/education plan (with SI) for the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH); a master plan for a new natural history museum in Oman (with SI, Thinc Design); a business plan/exhibit design for The Jordan Museum (with SI, Thinc Design); training with SI for the Oman Ministry of Heritage and Culture and the National Heritage Board of Singapore; and conducted planning/training for American Spaces/US Department of State (Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Korea, South Africa, Chile, Oman, Ukraine) with SI, and the Kuwait National Cultural District.
