Dr. Dalton is a Senior Research fellow, working as Economics Engineer in the area of Ocean Renewable Energy, funded by the Science Foundation Ireland. 

Dr. Dalton is chair of the International Consortium of Research Staff Associations (ICoRSA www.icorsa.org ), consisting of 14 member associations, and a research network of 0.5 million researchers globally.

Gordon is the International Officer of the Irish Research Staff Association and the Vice Chair of the Cork Branch in UCC (www.ucc.ie/en/rsa ).

Gordon is the coordinator of 4 H2020 projects related to researcher affairs.

‘Gendering’ H2020 proposal was submitted in September 2015 and received ‘reserve status in February 2016, with a score of 14.4/15.

Gordon is the coordinator of the Cost Action ‘SECURE’, “Sustainable Careers for Researcher Empowerment” (proposal submitted April 2016).

Gordon is coordinating 2 H2020 SwafS proposal call bids in 2017:

  1. SwafS8: Gendering – 15 partners €3,000,000
  2. SwafS14: RRING – Linked Glocal world of RRI – 23 partners €3,000,000

As a mature student, Dr Dalton completed a degree in electronic engineering in Trinity College Dublin 2002, and a PhD in Australia in renewable energy economics in 2007.

Prior to the pursuit of an engineering career, Dr. Dalton had a career in dentistry spanning 12 years.
