Dr. Alfred R. Conklin, Jr. is a professor of Agriculture and Chemistry at Wilmington College, Wilmington, Ohio, U.S.A. where he has taught for 41 years. He teaches Organic Chemistry, Chemistry and the Environment, Introductory Soils and Advanced Soils. Dr. Conklin is also the International Director of the International Undergraduate Research Symposium. Symposia have been held in Ecuador, the United States, the Philippines, Serbia, Kenya and India. He was a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Philippines from 1966 to 1969 and has had three Fulbrights, two in the Philippines in 1982-83 and 2004-05 and one in Zimbabwe in 1999. Dr. Conklin’s second edition of “Introduction to Soil Chemistry Analysis and Instrumentation” and “World Food” are published by Wiley& Sons. “Field Sampling Principles and Practices in Environmental Analysis” is published by CRC and he has written 14 other books includng 3 laboratory manuals, books about his Peace Corps and Fulbrights experences and three novels.
