Zbigniew Błocki was appointed the director of Polish National Science Centre (NCN) in March 2015 for a 4 year term. Currently he is also a member of the Science Europe Governing Board. Permanently he is a professor at the Institute of Mathematis of Jagiellonian University in Krakow. His main research areas are complex analysis of several variables and partial differential equations. He has worked in various research centres in the  U.S. (Fulbright senior grant), Sweden, Germany. In the past he has held positions of the director of Institute of Mathematics of Jagiellonian University, member of the NCN Council,  Vice Chair of the Executive Organising Committee of the 6th European Congress of Mathematics in Krakow (2012). Awards: Zaremba Prize of the Polish Mathematical Society (2007), the Polish Prime Minister Award for exceptional scientific achievements (2008), Jagiellonian Laurel (2014).
