Dr. Bhattarai is a physician from Nepal. As a research doctor in Patan Academy of Health Sciences, he has conducted hospital-based studies on pneumococcal infections and invasive bacterial diseases in paediatric population. He is also involved in other global health-related research projects. Further to master research skills and understanding of Infectious diseases, he is currently pursuing postgraduate training at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, UK.

 

As an advocate of science & research, he has been coordinating research capacity building training programs for young health professionals of Nepal under the patronage of Nepal Academy of Science & Technology and support from Inter Academy Partnership. He was selected for 'Young Physician Leaders Award' by IAMP during World Health Summit 2016. He has served as the Steering committee member of 'Clinical research capacity strengthening workshop' hosted by the Academy of Medical Sciences, UK, and thus maintaining a close network with scientists worldwide.

 

Dr. Bhattarai obtained his medical degree from B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Nepal in 2012 under Golden Jubilee Scholarship Award issued by the Embassy of India. Following graduation, he worked as a primary care doctor in resource-limited settings of Nepal. He has received short-term clinical & research training in paediatrics and neurosciences from the top medical institutions of the USA. He is involved in various medical professional societies.
