Gudar Beqiraj

Beqiraj was born in 1948 He studied mathematics at the University of Tirana and graduated in 1971. In 1982, he got his PhD with the thesis “The  Fourier transformations and its applications”. He did his specializations at the Center of Geostatistics, Fontainbleau, Francë,1985-1986, on the  methods of applied mathematics in Geophysics at Universiteti Paris VI, Francë, 1990.  Then in 1992, he did research at the University “La Sapienza”, Rome, Italy.

In 1994, he was awarded the  title “Professor”, by the High Council of Attestation at the Committe for  Science  and Technology

In 2003, he was  elected member of the Academy of Sciences. Then in 1992, he joined the European Academy of Sciences and Arts. In 2008, he was elected President of the Academy of Sciences.  In 2013 he was elected Vice President, and in 2017, he was elected for a 4-year term as President of the  Academy

 

On his research activity:  Expert for the evaluation of  project proposals in the programs COPERNICUS, EC, Brussels,1994.

Project director  in several EC projects.

Initiator of the 5-year informatics  project for the  registration and processing  of the  Italian cadaster data, 1994-1998.

Realized the algoritms for varios programs in the programming languages: Algol, Paskal, Fortran, applied in various fields like  geophysics, geology, agriculture, oil.  health, etc.

Publications: books on applied informatics in geophysics. dozens of research articles  at home and foreign  jounals
